Evans patches are each designed to achieve the optimum balance between protection and tone, enhancing both and sacrificing neither. From the black nylon EQ Patch, which softens attack and warms the tone, to the AF Patch, which accentuates beater click and increases the life of the head significantly, Evans patches offer a wide range of effects for diverse musical applications . 

The AF Patch is made using a Kevlar and polyester lamination. It offer extreme durability and enhanced beater click. The stress-relief slots around the edge ensure the thickness of the patch won't choke the head by allowing the patch to flex with the natural motion of the head.
