My biased advice....

What's a great "add- on" that will complement the bass amps above, or any bass amp? The number one item I'd recommend is a graphic equalizer pedal. This FX pedal allows you vary the amount of raising or lowering of bass,midrange and treble tones,in very selective frequency ranges,with the use of individual, dedicated,slide controls so you can see at a glance what range is being altered. The second item I'd recoomend would be a compressor.With a compressor you can level out your bass's signal,so the thicker top strings don't overpower the two thinner bottom strings.You can also use it when recording or playing live to keep the overall bass signal consistent ,regardless of whether you pick hard or soft.You won't have to worry about bottoming out the P.A mixer or pinning the recording meters deep into the red everytime you hit a low F.
